Ask anyone who knows me – french fries are only good because of what you dip them in. This recipe is comparative to my favorite Heinz ketchup. Discovering it was like running in the first touchdown for a 0-25 team. Sweet potato oven fries taste great with this recipe and I highly recommend mixing it with left over roast beef! (Mmmmmmm…)
- 2 tbsp olive or coconut oil
- 3 tbsp minced onions (dried)
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic (heaping)
- 29 oz tomato puree
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/4 c raw honey (preferably local)
- 1/4 c grade b maple syrup
- 1/4 c apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 tsp Real Salt
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard
- 1/8 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp all spice
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves

Sauté onion and garlic in oil. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer, stir off and on, for 15-20 minutes to get flavors combined. Enjoy!
We like ours chunky, but if you want a smooth, Heinz-like consistency throw it all in a blender and whir for a bit after it's all done cooking. Refrigerate and enjoy often! I would suggest using within a month.
